Why do you need to visit Linh Phuoc Pagoda and where it is.
It takes 8km from Da Lat Centre and completed in 1952, Linh Phuoc Pagoda is one of the most beautiful pagodas in Vietnam. With an area of 6,666m2, Linh Phuoc Pagoda is known as ‘‘Ve Chai Pagoda’’ (pagoda of broken glasses). To explain why its name came into being, there is a 49-metre-long dragon at the entrance gate, which was meticulously pieced together from 12,000 glass bottles. Besides that, the wall, ceilings and structures of mythical creatures are all inlaid with thousands upon thousands of small pieces of broken terracotta, porcelain, and glass.
Traveling to Linh Phuoc pagoda, you will have a chance to contemplate gorgeous works of Vietnamese people such as a huge bell which is the heaviest bell in Vietnam. It weights in at an impressive 8,500kg. A bell tower with 37-meter-high which is the highest one in Da Lat. Beside the bell tower is an 18-metre-high golden statue of Bodhisattva, which is decorated with over 600,000 flowers.
Take your time walking around the temple to appreciate the fine details of the tile work. Once visiting Linh Phuoc Pagoda, you don’t forget to write best wishes for you and your family on a yellow piece of paper then stick it on the bell.
