Thanh An Island-Can Gio, the pure pearl of Ho Chi Minh City
It takes only 70km from Ho Chi Minh City to the east, Thanh An is a peaceful island which belongs to Can Gio District, Ho Chi Minh City. However, there are not many people know about this beautiful and peaceful island even the Ho Chi Minh locals.
About ¾ of the area is covered by mangrove forest, and the north side is a small port where the fishermen anchor their boat.
Travelling to this island, you will experiencea great feeling of peace and silence at every corner on the island. The islanders mainly live on fishing, making sauces and manual work.
It takes you 30-45 minutes from mainland.The boat leaves at 6h30, 9h30, 12h, 14h and 17h from the mainland and 6h30, 7h30, 12h, 14h and 17h from the island. The boat ride charges you only 10,000vnd/person/round (0,4 usd).
Thanh An is not a tourist island and has no guest house service on the island, so you can visit it for one day and leave the island before the last departure at 17h.
