Yerevan is the ancient capital of Armenia which is very popular today among tourists from different countries. The sights of Yerevan and its surrounding provinces include many old fortresses, churches, museums and other cultural monuments of the country. The city with a long history nowadays has a convenient and developed infrastructure, beautifully combining elements of old and modern architecture.
Sevanavank is located on the peninsula of Lake Sevan, founded by Gregory the Illuminator in 305. Excavations revealed
that this place was inhabited in the Stone and Bronze Ages. According to the inscription on the southern wall of the Church of the Holy Apostles, the expansion and construction of the monastery in the 9th century was organized by the daughter of Ashot I Bagratuni, the founder of the royal house of Bagratuni. The surviving buildings are currently restored and available to anyone who wants to personally see the old monument. Sevanavank is one of the most recognizable historical and cultural sites of Armenia.
Lastiver is a unique place where the wonderful, fairy-tale Armenian nature and human handiwork are intertwined. This paradise is located in the gorge of the Khachaghbyur River in Tavush province, 3 km from Yenokavan village. There is a charming cozy corner, surrounded by dense forests; here you can admire the centuries-old caves, a beautiful waterfall and unique beautiful small huts and houses built on the trees which welcome and captivate their guests. The caves are located on the edge of a huge gorge, and people had built stairs from logs to climb there. These stairs were more like a raft (in Armenian raft is “last, lastanav”) than a ladder, and that made people to name this place Lastiver.
Yenokavan is a perfect place for those who seek adrenaline and adventure. It offers amazing activities for extreme lovers. Here you can try various activities such as zip-line, paragliding, rope park, via ferrata or horizontal climbing, zorbing, paintball, horseback riding and off-road tour by Yell Truck. Don't miss the chance to catch the vibe.
