During this tour, we will visit the most interesting cultural monuments of Armenia: the first state church in the world, the only pagan temple, modern cave, and monasteries lost in forests. It’s a good chance to enjoy colors and warmness of the capital, panoramic view of mount Ararat and get acquainted with Armenian traditions of wine-making. Day 1 - Arrival
Pick up from the airport and transfer to the hotel. Welcome dinner at traditional Armenian restaurant with the folk program (Armenian national songs and dances). Evening walk in the very heart of a city where old and new are woven together. Participation in dancing fountains show.
Overnight: Yerevan
Day 2 -Yerevan - Khor Virap - Areni - Noravank - Tatev - Goris
Breakfast in the hotel. Tour to Khor Virap Monastery. The Мonastery is famous for its location, especially for the view of the Biblical Mount Ararat, on the top of which Noah’s ark came to rest according to the legend. Tour to Noravank Monastery, 13th-century Armenian Monastery located in a narrow gorge of Amaghu river. Continue to Tatev Monastery, founded in the 9th century, which is one of the most wonderful places of Armenia. It was a major center of economic, political, spiritual, and cultural activity.
Overnight: Goris
Day 3 - Goris - Old Khndzoresk - Karahunj - Waterfall Shaki - Jermuk
Breakfast in the hotel. Tour to Khndzoresk, which is very famous for its canyon with picturesque rock formations and ancient cave settlement. The artificial caves used to be inhabited until the 1950s. Visit Karahunj, a prehistoric archaeological site. About 223 large stone tombs can be found in the area. About 80 of the stones feature a circular hole, although only 37 of the stones, with 47 holes, are still standing. The standing stones could have been used for astronomical observation. On the way back visit Waterfall Shaki, which is the most beautiful place in Armenia.
Overnight: Jermuk
Day 4 - Jermuk - Selim Caravansary - Noratus - Hayravank - Sevan - Yerevan
Breakfast in the Hotel. Jermuk is a famous Armenian spa city, where much of the country's mineral water comes from. Drive to Lake Sevan, one of the greatest high mountainous freshwater lakes of Eurasia. Lunch in Sevan. Noratus cemetery of khachkars: the unique phenomenon of Armenian culture. Visit Hayravank Monastery and Sevanavank Monastery. Return to Yerevan.
Overnight: Yerevan
Day 5 -Yerevan - Garni - Geghard - City Tour
Breakfast in the hotel. Tour to Geghard medieval monastery: a fantastic example of medieval Armenian architecture of the XIII century. It is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Participation in the baking of Armenian bread lavash. Tour to the only preserved pagan temple Garni. Dinner in Garni. Return to Yerevan.
Overnight: Yerevan
Day 6 - Departure
Breakfast in the Hotel. Check out and transfer to the airport.
